From the publisher's website:

Baroque palaces, wide boulevards, and elegant bridges: St Petersburg. On May 16, 1703, Czar Peter the Great lays the foundation for the first building. Quickly impressive buildings are erected that are ever more grand and beautiful. Such buildings bring the aristocracy glory and the players victory points. But you need traders to bring the rubles necessary for all this magnificence, otherwise, the buildings are empty and bare. But the competition never sleeps and may grab needed cards right from under your nose. St Petersburg: the card game of beautiful living on the Neva.

8 "St. Petersburg a definite hit" by dave b

I couldn't decide whether or not I should rate St.Petersburg a 7.5 or an 8. It's just been so popular with different gaming groups that an 8 seemed appropriate. I also rate it an 8 as a card game rating. It's essentially a card game. It's fun, fast and popular. What more do you want? If you like card games then St.Pete comes recommended. Side note: Many game companies in Germany do a great job with production quality but Hans Im Gluck is always at the top.

10 "Superb Game" by David Leung

This game is a must buy for serious gamers. Plenty of opportunities for strategic decisions, difficulty choices and deep gameplay make this a superb game. If you like Puerto Rico, you'll enjoy Saint Petersburg.

10 "One of the Year's Best" by Christine Biancheria

What a great game! St. Petersburg is a great game for 2 to 4 players. It's essentially a resource management game with painful decisions between buying lower-cost cards that earn money and saving for cards that earn points. Each round, cards of different types may be bought by the players in turn until everyone passes. Money is very tight, and the player who spends it wisely wins. It's attractive and easy to learn, and everyone I've played with has really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
