One of our all-time bestsellers and an all-around great game!

Players grow beans in their fields, selling them for as much profit as possible. Each turn, a player must play the card left-most in his hand; unlike most card games, players may not rearrange the cards in their hands! Beans may only be placed in one of the two "rows" with the exact same type of bean. So, if a player cannot plant a matching bean, he must "cash in" one of his rows of beans! The more beans of the same type a player has "planted", the greater the profit made upon selling them. Note that some beans are more valuable than others, so it takes fewer of them to score more points! Unfortunately, players are often forced to sell their beans too early, resulting in a low or nonexistant profit.

Next, the player flips the top two cards over from the deck. He may take either or both, or offer a trade for either or both, with any player. The catch is: any cards received must be planted immediately!

At game end, the player with the most money, wins.

Really nice game. Good time....

Was introduced to this game by friends. Quickly became addicted. The addiction has spread. We all own decks now and it's a favourite activity for get-togethers.

Warning: bean game may cause side effects including hysterical laughter, forgetting meals due to excessive play, and the trading away of one's future firstborn in exchange for a cocoa bean.

This game is so much fun to play with family and friends. We enjoy making up names for the beans and also fondly refer to the game as "The Bean Game". It doesn't sound enjoyable when you first hear about it but trust me its a blast.

6 "Pleasant Game, But Definitely for Families" by Christine Biancheria

This is a great family-type game that plays well with any number of people. But it's no more than a family game, really, and is sometimes over-hyped. Be sure you like trading games before launching a session of Bohnanza.

This game is the top of the notch game! There is no question, you must buy it now at once. Its just so fun, and for once clean being a farmer.

There is something to these German games. The cards did not get cold this past holiday season. I gave Bohnanza as a gift and we only stopped playing it to play another game I ordered, Carcassonne. The cards are top quality or I'd probably be ordering another set to replace the burnt out ones.

This is a very fun game although I have yet to personally win, but my time will come.

6 "Beans??? ok." by Jonathan Dietrich

I hear people talk about Bohnanza like it is the holy grail or something. It is an odd little game, with a strange mechanic which can be fun and a nice light theme. The most fun I have had with this game is refering to the beans with our own names based off of the pictures. Not to my taste, but well balanced, fun art, and cheap.

10 "the bean game" by Sarah

This game is awesome!! My family makes up our own names for the cards because we do not know the German names for them.It is fun to play and competitive at the same time. I just love playing it!!

Honestly, just buy Bohnanza. You will NOT be dissapointed. Everyone should have this game.

9.5 "Beans, beans, the Magical Fruit..." by Christian Monterroso

To the uninitiated, this crazy looking game sounds rather unattractive. A game about being a bean farmer? Who are you kidding? Fortunately, those sentiments flee quickly once anybody starts playing this wonderful game.

Starting with the excellent art on the card - depicting (among many others) Chili beans and Black Eyed beans at their best - and on through to the gameplay, I have not met a single person who has not enjoyed a game of Bohnanza. The player interaction is very high and varied. Strategy comes into play but it's lady luck who commands. I normally prefer games with more strategy, but somehow Bohnanza's small to medium amount doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I rather enjoy it.

Very highly recommended.
