A welcome cousin
by Paul Suggitt
This is billed as a 'deluxe version of
Carcassonne" and a "remake". I don't understand
that. This is a Carcassonne game to be sure but
the differences are significant.
As for the game, it is very good; perhaps a
little lighter than its namesake but meatier than
The Castle. Even so, I think I prefer the Castle
over this one, but only slightly. The components
are excellent and the play is full of dilemma.
Carcassonne is still the ‘Granddaddy’ in the
collection.
